My name is Donna Milgaten and I'm the songwriter/artist behind Christian Music for Your Head. I've been writing, playing, and singing songs about Yeshua (Jesus) for about 15 years now. I love ministering to people through my songs, letting them know what a wonderful, caring, all-knowing Father we have. Whether it's a live radio concert reaching half a continent via satellite or a small group of homeless people at a shelter, it's always such a blessing and privilege to be used by the Lord to touch people's hearts.

I guess you could say the music I write is sort of eclectic- hard to fit into any one category. Or maybe you could say I'm sort of eclectic myself- a musician, a mom and a chemist, a science teacher who believes in the Creator (Go ahead--report me to the ACLU!)- and is involved with Jews for Jesus! I try to write songs that make you think, but also stick in your head so you wake up humming them the next morning!

Some of my songs are about being a believer in the midst of our American culture. These songs don't claim to have all the answers, but are intended to encourage people to think more deeply about the issues of our day, in light of God's revelation through His Word. Those are the songs I do with my contemporary Christian band, American Prayer.

As someone who's been part of a close-knit Jewish family (through marriage to my husband Mitch) for over 25 years, and who's been involved in the Messianic movement, leading worship at a Messianic Jewish congregation for 8 years, I also write a lot of Messianic songs. (For those of you unfamiliar with the term, a Messianic Jewish congregation is a body of Jews and Gentiles worshipping Yeshua HaMashiach together in a Jewish style- similar to the way Peter, Paul, James and all the early believers worshipped!)

Along those lines, I'm also part of a musical trio called Water to Wine. The other members of the group are Ray Chernoff and Shana Black. We have an album out called Forgiven, which has been a Calvary Satellite Network Album of the Week, and was chosen as Messianic Album of the Year by Messianic Bureau International a few years back.

I also love writing worship songs and leading worship at Calvary Chapel of Henderson, NV.

One of my worship songs, Blessed Are You, was included on the Paul Wilbur album, Jerusalem Arise!, recently released by Integrity Music.
